Weekend Weather with
Dave Nussbaum of WWL-TV
A cold front will move through by Saturday Morning and this will bring us some slightly cooler and less humid weather for this weekend. A few showers will be possible for the Crescent City Classic Saturday Morning, but it will become sunny and windy by the afternoon with a high around 70.
Check out our Facebook page for photos and posts about everything happening at the Festival. –>
The Advocate has an article about the Festival and the restaurants on Freret Street. “On Freret Street, a bounty of food and drink”
Freret Street will be blocked off From Napoleon Avenue to Jefferson Avenue. If you are lucky enough to live close enough to walk to the Freret Street Festival, good for you!
If you drive, there are two, free parking lots nearby: 1) On Napoleon Avenue at S Robertson Street & 2) On the corner of Magnolia and Cadiz Streets. Please be courteous to our neighbors when you park and do not block driveways. Be aware there is major construction going on Napoleon Ave and Jefferson Ave.
If you ride your bike, there is a complimentary bike valet by Bike Easy, at the corner of Freret and Jena. Please help keep sidewalks clear by parking your bicycle with Bike Easy. It’s free, secure and easy!
Via public transit, both the Freret #15 bus and Napoleon #24 bus will drop you off right here. Take the St. Charles Streetcar and transfer to the Napoeon bus or walk the 8 or so blocks. The Claiborne #16 bus is just 2-4 blocks away.
The Festival is this Saturday! But you can find out now who will be there selling goods and food. Just click here: https://www.freretmarket.org/UpcomingMarketInfo
Freret Street loves dogs and we will again have the Doggy Rest Stop, sponsored by Zeus’ Place and Petit Pet Care. Find it around the backside of the Pet Adoption Tent on the Corner of Cadiz Street behind the bus stop. Visit with your pooch for water, treats, poop bags and splash pools. Don’t have a dog? Then check out all the adorable pets for adoption by Zeus’ Place, Zeus’ Rescues, and other local animal rescue organizations. Come find your new best friend!
The 2015 Festival will feature 3 stages all local, live music and all free! Please visit the Music page for the schedule. (Artists and times subject to change)
If you would like to be considered to be a vendor at the Festival, you must have a vendor account set up on the Freret Market website: http://freretmarket.org/VendorTermsAndConditions
The Festival is now accepting booth requests from people who would like to be a vendor.
THANK YOU to everyone who made this another fantastic year! From everyone who attended, to the vendors, the musicians, the volunteers, all the merchants on Freret Street and our patient neighbors in the surrounding neighborhood. If you missed it, here some photos from Nola.com.
